Emergency Equipment Helps Stand Up an Evacuation Shelter for Questa Residents

  • Local Champion: Living Word Ministries
  • Date Funded: June 10, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $17,000

Questa residents have no evacuation facility where they can go during emergency situations like wildfires, extended power outages, or utility failures. Recognizing this critical gap in preparedness, pastors with Living Word Ministries reached out to LOR with a solution. Their idea? Create a community evacuation shelter on their property. LOR’s funding will help Living Word Ministries purchase essential emergency equipment including AED defibrillators, a generator, and a secure storage unit to house supplies donated by the Red Cross. With trained volunteers ready to operate the facility, Questa residents will now have a safe place to shelter during emergencies, ensuring their basic needs are met when disasters strike.
