Emergency Equipment Helps Libby Clear Roads After Disasters

  • Local Champion: Lincoln County
  • Date Funded: December 18, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $6,000

Catastrophic flooding and high winds in Libby have left trees down across roadways throughout Lincoln County, but county employees lack the equipment needed to quickly clear debris and reopen roads for residents and emergency vehicles. Without chainsaws and recovery tools, staff have been trapped behind fallen trees while assessing flood damage, creating dangerous delays. County staff wanted to ensure emergency workers could immediately address road blockages, so they reached out to LOR with a solution. LOR’s funding will help Lincoln County purchase chainsaws, vehicle recovery equipment, and lighting tools to store in county trucks. The equipment will allow workers to safely remove downed trees and reopen roads without delay, improving emergency response times and protecting residents during natural disasters.
