Educators Conference Supports Teacher (and Student) Success in Monte Vista

  • Local Champion: Monte Vista School District NO. C-8
  • Date Funded: December 9, 2024
  • Grant Amount: $2,000

The importance of good teachers and the value of investing in their ongoing professional development cannot be overstated. However, educators in Monte Vista have almost no options when it comes to accessible continuing education opportunities, which can prevent them—and their students—from reaching their full potential. So, a Monte Vista School District employee contacted LOR to request funding for a local conference designed to meet the needs of teachers in the San Luis Valley. The SLV Educators Conference will provide sessions on topics including but not limited to strengths-based learning, AI strategies for student success, fostering resilience, family engagement practices, and educator self-care.

LOR will cover half of the conference costs, including expert speakers’ fees and meals for attendees.
