Drama Program Relaunch Supports Artistic Exploration and Expression in Questa

  • Local Champion: Questa Independent School District
  • Date Funded: November 18, 2024
  • Grant Amount: $7,200

Questa schools have a long history of providing students with high-quality, culturally relevant performing arts programming. However, following the height of the COVID-19 pandemic (and the retirement of several key staff members), the curtain fell on the district’s extracurricular drama and music programs. Almost five years later—with a growing number of students, staff, and community volunteers expressing interest in reviving the program—a local teacher reached out to LOR for help to cover the costs associated with a relaunch.

LOR’s support will promote the revitalized program throughout the district, fund workshops provided by guest instructors and cover travel, and attendance fees to bring students to professional performances in Albuquerque.
