Cortez Teens Find Their Game with Activity Nights

Cortez teens have few opportunities to participate in safe, supervised activities outside of school. And, for many kids, the activities that do exist are cost prohibitive. After surveying local youth about what they wanted, staff with the Team Up Safe Spaces for Youth working group reached out to LOR with a solution: create free teen nights at local venues. LOR’s funding will help Team Up partner with the Cortez Public Library, Cortez Recreation Center, a local game store, and an indoor sports facility to host weekly rotating teen nights throughout the year. The events will provide young people with safe opportunities to connect and build friendships, strengthening the Cortez community.
