Cortez Pickleballers Connect Players Using a Fresh New Website

  • Local Champion: Cortez Pickleball Club
  • Date Funded: April 1, 2023
  • Grant Amount: $4,250

Pickleball is among the fastest-growing sports in Cortez, with courts filling up quickly when the weather is nice. While the bevy of new players has allowed more people to exercise, it has also created logistical issues. Over the past several years, locals formed the Cortez Pickleball Club to create a central resource to connect players and organize lessons, matches, and tournaments—which had previously done by word of mouth. To help further this solution, the club determined a website would help them reach more potential pickleball players, and they reached out to LOR for help. With a grant from the LOR Foundation, the Cortez Pickleball Club hired a web developer to create an online presence that will help more people participate in a healthy outdoor activity.

This project was fiscally sponsored by Onward! A Legacy Foundation.
