Building Upgrades Make Community Services Accessible to All Lander Residents

  • Local Champion: Trinity Episcopal Church
  • Date Funded: February 11, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $19,661

In Lander, Trinity Episcopal Church serves as a vital community hub, hosting essential services like the Free Medical Clinic, First Stop Help Center, and Narcotics Anonymous meetings, but the building’s 1970s-era bathrooms pose significant barriers for people with mobility challenges. The narrow doorways and tight interior angles created by brick walls make it difficult—if not impossible—for people using wheelchairs, walkers, and crutches to use. When a pediatrician and church volunteer saw this ongoing problem affecting patients and community members, she reached out to LOR for support. LOR’s funding will help reconfigure both the men’s and women’s restrooms with wider doorways and properly sized stalls, making them ADA-compliant and ensuring that all Lander residents can comfortably access the important services and community gatherings hosted in this central location.
