Badges and Hats Improve Officer Identification in Questa

  • Local Champion: Village of Questa
  • Date Funded: March 16, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $3,239

Questa residents rely on clear visual cues to quickly recognize law enforcement officers in public settings. However, officers currently lack visible uniform components such as badges and hats, creating uncertainty about their identity and potentially increasing safety risks during interactions. When the police chief recognized how this gap affected both professionalism and public trust—particularly during court appearances and community events—he reached out to LOR for support.

LOR’s funding will help the Village of Questa Police Department purchase official badges and uniform hats, ensuring officers can be easily identified when appearing in court or interacting with the public. These essential components will reduce confusion and improve safety by clearly signaling authorized law enforcement personnel, strengthening transparency and community trust in Questa’s reinstated police department.
