Athletic Field Design Will Maximize Community Benefit in Monte Vista

  • Local Champion: Monte Vista Schools
  • Date Funded: November 6, 2023
  • Grant Amount: $26,830

The City of Monte Vista and Monte Vista Middle School athletic fields are in poor quality. In particular, the irrigation systems are antiquated, creating a significant waste of water and leaving the fields mostly unusable for the broader community. The city and school district have formulated a plan to build new athletic fields that will be built on the Middle School campus but utilize more acreage so the fields are accessible to more residents. While the total project cost is approximately $1 million, LOR’s funding will be used to hire a contractor to provide design and planning services to ensure the project maximizes community benefit.
