An RC Car Upgrade Motors Libby’s Economy

  • Local Champion: Kootenai R/C Racers
  • Date Funded: December 13, 2023
  • Grant Amount: $1,197

RC car racing attracts a passionate crowd. Competitors and fans not only travel regionally but nationally for events, making quality race tracks an economic boom for communities. Over the years, volunteers with Libby’s Kootenai R/C Racers club have built a large-scale course that can host events. However, the course lacks the pit lane needed to make Libby a more appealing destination and a stop on regional competition circuits. To attract more racers, club volunteers had the idea to build a steel platform that competitors could use to do quick repairs and refuel their cars. LOR’s funding will support the club’s purchase of materials for the platform. Once constructed, the upgraded track serve as a hub for tourism and an economic motor for Libby.

This project was fiscally sponsored by Kootenai Country Montana.
