A Walking Path Makes a Libby Park Family Friendly

  • Local Champion: Libby Parks District
  • Date Funded: April 29, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $10,000

With its fishing and swimming ponds, Libby Pond Park is a popular destination for local families. But the park lacks other opportunities for visitors of all ages to fully enjoy the outdoors. When staff with the Libby Parks District surveyed the area, they discovered an opportunity hidden beneath thick brush: space for a walking path that would encircle both ponds. Hoping to get their idea off the ground, they reached out to LOR for support. LOR’s funding will help the Libby Parks District hire contractors to build a 1,000-foot walking trail around the ponds, transforming Libby Pond Park into a place where families of all ages and interests can enjoy Libby’s environment.
