A Pedal Track Encourages Young Libby Riders

  • Local Champion: Libby Outdoor Recreation Association
  • Date Funded: May 6, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $10,000

Libby offers excellent cycling opportunities for experienced riders, but the area lacks safe places for young children to learn basic biking skills. Most local roads have limited shoulders, and increasing traffic makes street riding dangerous for inexperienced cyclists. One local outdoor recreation advocate wanted to create a safe space where Libby’s youngest residents could learn to bike, so he reached out to LOR with an idea. LOR’s funding will help the Libby Outdoor Recreation Association build a pedal track at Pioneer Park, giving Libby’s new bike riders a dedicated space to practice and develop their skills.
