A Multi-Use Court Gives Libby Middle Schoolers Room to Play

  • Local Champion: Libby K-12 Schools
  • Date Funded: July 18, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $29,074

When Libby’s middle school combined with its high school, the town’s middle school students lost access to their outdoor play equipment. They now spend their breaks in an empty lot with no recreational opportunities, a problem many teachers have experienced firsthand as their students have struggled without the physical activity. One school staff member had a remedy in mind, so he reached out to LOR for support. LOR’s funding will help Libby Middle-High School install a multi-use court that can accommodate games like basketball and volleyball, as well as activities like hopscotch and jump rope. The new court will serve more than 500 students while also being available to the public after school hours, creating a much-needed recreational space for the entire community.
