A Monte Vista Mental Health Workshop Supports Spanish-Speaking Residents

  • Local Champion: A Monte Vista local
  • Date Funded: July 18, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $6,499

Many Monte Vista residents who speak Spanish don’t have access to culturally relevant resources to help them manage anxiety in their daily lives. Recognizing the growing need for accessible, culturally relevant mental health support, two locals decided to bring La Ansiedad Sigue Probándome (Anxiety Keeps On Trying Me), a specialized workshop, to Monte Vista. LOR’s funding helped cover meals, child care stipends, materials, and venue costs for the program, which will equip Spanish-speaking community members with the tools and coping strategies they need to understand and manage their anxiety.

This project is fiscally sponsored by San Luis Valley Area Health Education Center, Inc.
