A Mobile Art Park Creates a Public Display for Cortez Artists

  • Local Champion: Dolores Rotary
  • Date Funded: May 16, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $12,785

Cortez has many talented local artists and a rich cultural heritage, but the community lacks a dedicated public venue where art can be displayed and appreciated free of charge. Members of the Cortez Rotary Satellite Club, a branch of the Dolores Rotary, wanted to leverage the city of Cortez’s park system to support local artists, so they reached out to LOR with their idea. LOR’s funding will help the club purchase the materials to build movable art displays that can rotate between different parks throughout Cortez. The mobile art park will feature rotating exhibits and artist competitions, creating economic opportunities for local artists while establishing Cortez as a destination for the arts.
