An Updated Living Space Keeps Weiser Paramedics Rested and Ready

  • Local Champion: Washington County and Weiser Ambulance District
  • Date Funded: November 29, 2024
  • Grant Amount: $10,000

Many of Weiser’s paramedics and EMTs travel from outside the area to serve the community, often staying multiple days for their 24- or 48-hour shifts at the ambulance station. The problem is Washington County and Weiser Ambulance District’s station on 435 E. Park St. does not have a comfortable place to work and rest during these long shifts, affecting staff stress and morale. One local EMT saw the need for creating a comfortable space so first responders could rest and recover. In need of support, she reached out to LOR. LOR’s funding will help Washington County and Weiser Ambulance District purchase new recliners, chairs, desks, and other furnishings, as well as update the stations’s painting and flooring. The improvements will help Weiser keep its first responders rested and ready to save lives.
