A Libby Local Volunteers to Ensure Alternative School Students Have Arts Education

  • Local Champion: Libby K-12 Schools
  • Date Funded: December 16, 2022
  • Grant Amount: $10,250

The budget for Libby’s alternative school does not provide enough funding to support an art program. Recognizing this gap, a local resident has been volunteering teaching time to ensure the 27 sixth through 12th graders still have access to some arts education. But she does not have the ability to purchase the art supplies the students need, so representatives from the school and Libby community reached out to LOR for help. LOR’s funding will support the purchase of art supplies to sustain the program while the school secures future funding for the arts program.
