A Lander Support Group Builds Awareness About Parkinson’s Resources

  • Local Champion: Wind River Parkinson's Education Group
  • Date Funded: October 10, 2022
  • Grant Amount: $250

Several people in the Lander community who have been diagnosed—or have yet to be diagnosed—with Parkinson’s Disease may not be aware of the local support available to them. Volunteers with the Wind River Parkinson’s Support Group are trying to spread awareness about symptoms and available care in Lander through meetings with locals. However, the group recognized that as they grow, they need more robust meeting supplies and marketing assets—like fliers and banners that will help Lander residents connect with needed care. The LOR Foundation supported the effort by helping them purchase supplies for an event kit, including wrist bands for attendees, a new banner, as well as brochure racks to display literature at future meetings.

This project is fiscally sponsored by the Lander Community Foundation
