Water Testing Kits Help Libby Residents Ensure Safe Drinking Water

  • Local Champion: Lincoln County
  • Date Funded: December 22, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $5,550

Recent flooding in Libby has raised concerns about contamination in private well water supplies since floodwaters can introduce bacteria, sediment, and pollutants. The problem is many homeowners don’t know if their drinking water is safe after the disaster. Lincoln County staff wanted to help protect residents by assessing their water quality and identifying contamination quickly, so they reached out to LOR with a solution. LOR’s funding will help Lincoln County purchase 150 well testing kits to distribute to affected homeowners. The testing kits will enable residents to check for harmful bacteria and contaminants, preventing waterborne illnesses and ensuring families have access to safe drinking water.
