Water Stations Help Libby Farmers Market Visitors and Vendors Stay Hydrated

  • Local Champion: Farmers Market at Libby
  • Date Funded: April 18, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $1,500

During the hot summer months, the Farmers Market at Libby attracts up to 70 vendors and over 1,000 visitors, but the market’s new location lacks access to drinking water. When temperatures spike, many market-goers risk dehydration and heatstroke—especially seniors and children. One Farmers Market at Libby board member wanted to reduce the risk for visitors and vendors alike, so she reached out to LOR with a solution. LOR’s funding will help the farmers market purchase portable water coolers and a handwashing station, giving visitors and vendors free access to drinking water while reducing plastic waste from disposable bottles.
