Water Fill Stations Give Lander Locals Easy Access to Clean Drinking Water

  • Local Champion: City of Lander
  • Date Funded: November 6, 2024
  • Grant Amount: $29,679

Lander, Wyoming, is an active town. But residents who bike or walk around town have little access to drinking water while recreating or commuting around town because there are no public water fountains in the downtown area. A local resident and ardent cyclist worked with the city on a solution: Strategically place four water fountains and bottle fill stations around town. They just needed some help to purchase the water fountains and reached out to LOR. LOR’s funding will help support the placement of four water fountains, one at Jaycee Park next to the Chamber of Commerce, one at Lander Middle School, one near the dog park and softball grounds behind the high school, and a fourth at the public restrooms at the Pioneer Museum.
