Updated Kitchen Equipment Keeps Questa Firefighters Ready to Respond

  • Local Champion: Village of Questa
  • Date Funded: January 13, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $7,756

The Questa fire station has not had working kitchen equipment for years, making it difficult for volunteer crews to stay nourished and on-site during long shifts or extended emergency responses, which reduces readiness and response efficiency.

When fire department leadership recognized that the outdated, broken appliances were forcing firefighters to leave the station for meals, they reached out to LOR for support in updating the space.

LOR’s funding will help the Questa Fire Department purchase a commercial stove, three refrigerators, and a dishwasher, enabling firefighters to prepare meals and remain at the station during their shifts. This essential equipment will allow volunteer crews—many of whom live too far away to respond quickly from home—to stay ready around the clock.
