Taos Volunteers Fill a Needed Gap with a Fall Downtown Clean-Up

  • Local Champion: Downtown Taos
  • Date Funded: September 14, 2022
  • Grant Amount: $2,900

Staffing shortages and the lack of a downtown maintenance plan has left downtown Taos with a trash, weed, and graffiti problem. To solve this, Downtown Taos offered to lead a clean-up day with volunteers, local businesses, and Town of Taos staff this fall and reached out to LOR for support. LOR’s funding will be used to support the effort, which includes trash pick up and hauling, weed mitigation, graffiti mitigation, sidewalk sediment removal and sweeping.
