Summer Meals Nourish Taos Elementary Students

  • Local Champion: Taos Education Collaborative
  • Date Funded: April 22, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $9,504

Many Taos youth lack access to healthy meals during the summer months, a need that continues to grow as local organizations face funding and staffing challenges. To fill this critical nutrition gap, members of the Taos Education Collaborative had an idea: free meals for campers at the collaborative’s summer camp. LOR’s funding helped provide breakfast, lunch, and snacks for 75 students participating in the Taos Education Collaborative’s three-week summer program at Enos Garcia Elementary, ensuring Taos’ young learners have both their essential and educational needs met.

This project is fiscally sponsored by Taos Community Foundation.
