Rec Sports in Monte Vista Get a Much-Needed Boost

  • Local Champion: City of Monte Vista
  • Date Funded: October 18, 2023
  • Grant Amount: $4,718

Participation in Monte Vista’s recreational youth sports has increased by 50 percent compared to last year, and they do not have enough equipment to accommodate all of the new participants. The city’s recreation director hoped to alleviate this problem, particularly because it would help more economically disadvantaged kids participate in youth sports. With LOR’s support, the city was able to purchase football, basketball, and volleyball equipment, as well as new uniforms for several recreational teams.
