Portable Heaters Help Keep Questa’s Water Running Through the Winter Months

  • Local Champion: Village Of Questa
  • Date Funded: December 11, 2024
  • Grant Amount: $3,800

Questa residents experience a rise in prolonged water outages during the winter months, which impacts household activities related to drinking, hygiene, cooking, and sanitation. Part of the reason for the extended outages is that it is difficult for public works employees to repair frozen water lines, so a Village employee reached out to LOR with a solution: purchase heaters that can be used to thaw pipes and keep technicians warm as they work to restore the community’s water access.

LOR’s support will fund the purchase of two portable diesel heaters and one commercial-grade pop-up tent.
