Performance Supplies Grow Cortez’s Community Band

  • Local Champion: Four Corners Community Band
  • Date Funded: September 26, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $4,700

A successful marketing campaign brought dozens of new musicians to Cortez’s Four Corners Community Band, but the group now lacks enough chairs and music stands for all members to participate in rehearsals and performances. Hoping to accommodate all 42 musicians and grow into a larger venue, the group’s volunteers came up with a plan. LOR’s funding helped the Four Corners Community Band purchase performance chairs, music stands, stand lights, and storage carts for their new home at Lamp Post Creative Learning Center. The equipment will ensure that band members of all ages—from high school students to retirees—can rehearse and perform for the community.

This project is fiscally sponsored by Onward! A Legacy Foundation.
