Parish Renovation Restores Community Gathering Space in Questa

The closure of Questa’s local VFW building further reduced the community’s already limited supply of large indoor gathering spaces, leaving local organizations, schools, nonprofits, and families with few options for meetings, events, and programs. St. Anthony’s Parish Hall—one of the only facilities capable of hosting these gatherings—has been unavailable for community use for nearly 16 years after temporary parish offices installed during a campus reconstruction were never removed. When a parish leader identified relocating those offices as the key to reopening the hall, he approached LOR with a plan an idea: hire a contractor to complete the work, including architect-stamped plans and permitting, electrical work, general construction, painting, and drywall. LOR funding will support the office relocation, allowing St. Anthony’s Parish Hall to reopen as a community gathering space. Once restored, the hall will be available for reservations by nonprofits, civic organizations, schools, faith-based groups, and families. Rental fees will remain minimal for personal events, nonprofit and community-serving organizations will receive fee waivers, and rental income will help fund ongoing maintenance—returning a valued community asset to its intended purpose.
