Online Services Coordinate Volunteers and Organizations in Lander

  • Local Champion: Lander Community Foundation
  • Date Funded: February 22, 2021
  • Grant Amount: $14,998

The pandemic spurred the creation in Lander of two services to connect willing volunteers with local organizations and individuals needing assistance: Lander United and Lander Connected, which became invaluable for isolated individuals looking for help. Even after the immediate crises of the pandemic eased demand remained high for both services. Seeking a way to ensure the programs’ sustainability, leaders at the Lander Community Foundation approached LOR for assistance. With LOR funding, they were able to hire an experienced project manager who could focus on the continued development of both community programs as well as their online platforms. Ultimately, the LOR grant allowed for the creation of detailed marketing and sustainability plans, broadening to new audiences the reach of both vital services and ensuring that anyone in the Lander area needing volunteer help at any scale could easily connect with community members eager to help.

Impact

Since 2020, this project has helped to provide more than 11,000 volunteer hours to the greater Lander community.
