On-Site Laundry Services Support Sargent Students’ Basic Needs

  • Local Champion: Sargent School District NO. Re-33j
  • Date Funded: April 27, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $2,022

Throughout the school year, students occasionally experience spills, accidents, weather-related issues, or other situations that require a change of clothing during the school day. Recognizing the importance of ensuring students remain comfortable, confident, and focused on learning, an elementary school teacher in the Sargent School District approached LOR with an idea to provide access to clean clothing and essential personal items when needed. LOR funding will support the purchase and installation of a washer and dryer, along with laundry supplies, to provide on-site laundry services for students in need. This equipment will enable staff to respond quickly and discreetly to hygiene needs and accidents, ensuring students have access to clean backpacks, coats, and clothing. By reducing embarrassment and discomfort, the program helps students remain confident, comfortable, and focused on learning.
