New Mats Keep Libby’s Popular Youth Wrestling Program Safe and Growing

  • Local Champion: Libby Wrestling Club
  • Date Funded: October 28, 2024
  • Grant Amount: $29,995

The Libby Wrestling Club supports more than 100 youth athletes each year, maintaining Libby’s proud wrestling tradition while keeping the sport affordable for all families. However, the club’s aging practice mats have become a growing health concern, with tears and exposed foam creating conditions for bacterial growth that can affect wrestlers, coaches, and their families. One volunteer with the club wanted to buy new mats that would make local youth wrestling safer, so he reached out to LOR for support. LOR’s funding will help the Libby Wrestling Club purchase new portable antimicrobial mats, ensuring current and future generations of Libby wrestlers can continue developing their skills in a healthy, safe environment.
