New Equipment Ensures the Libby Food Pantry Can Provide Meals to Thousands

Already this year, the Libby Food Pantry has provided food to more than 2,000 food insecure individuals. But when the organization was displaced due to the sale of the building they worked out of, it left them using a space bereft of proper equipment. In the pantry’s new space, volunteers were using tables and chairs discarded from schools and churches—but they were small, non-adjustable, and made kitchen work harder on the staff. Since 95 percent of the pantry’s budget goes to purchasing food, volunteers reached out to LOR for help. LOR’s funding will support the acquisition of a worktable and cart, used to prepare thousands of pounds of food each year.
