New Chairs Support Student Comfort and Focus in Taos

Students and staff at Vista Grande High School have raised ongoing concerns about outdated classroom chairs that cause discomfort and distraction—especially during the school’s extended 105-minute class periods. Many of the current chairs are cracked, wobbly, or missing parts, making it difficult for students to stay comfortable and focused throughout the day.

To address this, a Vista Grande teacher came up with a solution and reached out to LOR for support. His idea? Replace the aging chairs with ergonomic, padded seating chosen with input from both students and staff.

With help from LOR, Vista Grande High School will purchase 80 new classroom chairs featuring padded seats, sturdy steel back support, and long-term durability. The improved seating will help students maintain better posture and stay more engaged during long class periods, while also preventing floor damage caused by worn chair components, ultimately benefiting the school community for years to come.
