Multi-Child Stroller Opens Up Lander’s Outdoors for Infants and Toddlers

  • Local Champion: Child Development Services of Fremont County Lander
  • Date Funded: March 12, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $1,200

When Child Development Services (CDS) opened an infant and toddler day-care room to address local childcare shortages brought on by COVID, they focused first on the essentials. But as time went on, staff realized that without proper equipment, the youngest Lander residents were missing out on fresh air and community activities. Taking multiple infants outside at once proved challenging with their limited resources, especially since this new day-care service wasn’t covered by state funding. When a staff member noticed her colleagues struggling with this limitation, she reached out to LOR for support. LOR’s funding will help purchase a six-passenger stroller that allows caregivers to safely transport multiple infants and toddlers at once, giving Lander’s littlest residents access to story time at the library, visits to local parks, and participation in community events beyond the walls of their day-care room.
