Mountain Biking Equipment Opens New Opportunities for Monte Vista Youth

  • Local Champion: San Luis Valley Cycling
  • Date Funded: April 24, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $5,484

A growing number of Monte Vista youth want to join the SLV Rattlers cycling team, but San Luis Valley Cycling lacks the equipment to support the safety, skill development, and competition of new riders. One volunteer coach wanted to serve more kids and keep participation costs low, so he reached out to LOR with an idea. LOR’s funding will help San Luis Valley Cycling purchase pedals, tool kits, fitness tracking devices, and other training equipment, ensuring all interested kids can participate regardless of their financial circumstances.
