Monte Vista’s New Playground Serves the Youngest Generation of Learners

  • Local Champion: Monte Vista Schools
  • Date Funded: August 9, 2023
  • Grant Amount: $4,468

Preschool-aged children in Monte Vista do not have access to a safe, dedicated play space or playground, as most spaces are designed for kids in first grade or higher. At Marsh Elementary, which opened an Early Learning Center recently, the need is particularly urgent as it serves Monte Vista’s youngest population of students. To address the issue, staff from the Early Learning Center reached out to the LOR Foundation with an idea for building a more accessible playground. With LOR’s help, Marsh Elementary purchased outdoor climbing equipment, a sandbox, rubber chips, as well as paint and a new sign.
