Food Pantry Lift Makes Distribution Safer for Questa Volunteers

  • Local Champion: North Central Food Pantry
  • Date Funded: September 1, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $3,805

Questa’s North Central Food Pantry relies on older adult volunteers who do demanding physical work each distribution day—receiving, sorting, and moving heavy boxes of canned goods and bulk food deliveries without adequate equipment —putting them at risk of lifting-related injuries. So a pantry volunteer reached out to LOR with a practical solution: purchase a Tora Max Model Lift to help volunteers move heavy food items safely and efficiently. LOR’s funding will help the pantry purchase the lift, reducing physical strain on volunteers, supporting volunteer retention, and helping ensure uninterrupted food distribution for Questa residents who rely on this essential service.
