Monte Vista’s Mini-Cheer Program Gets the Youngest Generation Involved

  • Local Champion: A Monte Vista Resident
  • Date Funded: June 2, 2023
  • Grant Amount: $9,994

Young children in Monte Vista have limited opportunities for extracurricular activities, and many of the options that do exist are out-of-reach due to costs and fees. One local parent had this problem in mind when she created a cheerleading program for kids between ages 5 and 10 who perform at athletic events around town. The program has nearly doubled in size over the past year, but a lack of equipment and other resources prevent it from growing further. To address this issue, parents reached out to the LOR Foundation, which helped them purchase gear (think: pom poms, bodysuits, jackets, etc.) as well as equipment like speakers, a megaphone, and other event materials that will make their performances even more impactful.

This project was fiscally sponsored by SLV Development Resources Group.
