Mobile Data Terminals Accelerate Libby Emergency Response

  • Local Champion: City of Libby
  • Date Funded: July 30, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $21,854

Libby Police Department patrol officers currently rely on radio communication and handwritten forms during traffic stops and crash investigations, creating radio congestion that slows emergency response and delays crash documentation by up to 10 days. One police officer identified a solution and reached out to LOR for support. LOR’s funding will help the Libby Police Department purchase 8 laptops, 7 computer docks, 6 computer mounts, and 6 printers and mounts to equip patrol vehicles with mobile data terminals. The terminals will allow officers to run plates, complete crash reports, and print documentation on-scene, reducing radio traffic, improving inter-agency coordination, and delivering faster, more accurate service to Libby residents.
