Libby Brings Jobseekers and Employers Together with a Winter Job Fair

  • Local Champion: Kootenai Heritage Council
  • Date Funded: January 23, 2023
  • Grant Amount: $600

While Lincoln County’s unemployment rate is only 4.2 percent, it’s still higher than the Montana state average. Fortunately, several new companies are moving to Libby and bringing dozens of jobs with them: Nomad Command Center Vehicles, Noble Excavating, and a new lumber mill. The problem is that these new additions—along with the more than 25 other Libby businesses with open positions—don’t have a great central place to showcase their open opportunities. So volunteers for Libby Revitalization and Kootenai Heritage Council came up with the idea for a job fair and just needed a little help to secure a space for it. LOR’s funding helped secure a rental location where jobseekers and employers can connect.
