New Donation Entrance Improves Access at Monte Vista Thrift Store

  • Local Champion: La Puente Home, Inc.
  • Date Funded: September 30, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $6,380

As donations have grown at Rainbow’s End (La Puente Inc.’s Monte Vista thrift store), the existing drop-off area has made it difficult for community members, volunteers, and staff to manage donations safely and efficiently. So staff at La Puente reached out to LOR with a solution: install a new door system to create a safer, more accessible donation entrance. LOR’s funding will help Rainbow’s End purchase and install a 42-inch steel door and jamb with security glass and commercial hardware. The new entrance will streamline donations, reduce physical strain on volunteers and staff, and give residents an easier way to contribute to a resource that keeps affordable goods circulating in the community.
