A Downtown Mural Connects Libby Visitors to Local Landmarks and Businesses

Downtown Libby lacks visible public art that celebrates the area’s landmarks, showcases local identity, and connects visitors to downtown businesses. After an administrative staff member and the art teacher at the Libby Central Charter School identified this gap, they reached out to LOR with a solution: have students design and paint a downtown mural. LOR’s funding will help the Libby Central Charter School purchase paint, brushes, a vinyl QR code, and other supplies to complete the mural. Each of the six letters in “LIBBY” will depict a distinct local attraction—including Libby Dam and Lake Koocanusa, Kootenai Falls, and the Cabinet Mountains. A QR code will link viewers directly to the Libby Area Chamber of Commerce website, connecting residents and visitors to local recreation, attractions, and businesses.
