Lander Creatives Bring Art in the Afternoon Back to Life

  • Local Champion: Lander Art Center
  • Date Funded: October 24, 2022
  • Grant Amount: $4,875

Dating back more than a decade, Art in the Afternoon has been one of Lander’s most engaging holiday celebrations, connecting residents to local creatives as a way to kick off holiday shopping. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic had a lasting impact on the event, and public attendance and sales for local producers dropped significantly the past two years. To address this problem, the Lander Art Center had an idea for reenergizing the 2022 event by hiring local musicians and caterers, and by offering gift bags to local artists to increase participation. The LOR Foundation supported the effort with a grant that helped hire local bands, create the gift bags, and provide additional funding for marketing efforts.
