Hydrant Meter Supports Conservation in Questa

  • Local Champion: Village of Questa
  • Date Funded: May 1, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $5,500

Questa residents are increasingly concerned about water consumption, yet construction zones currently lack a reliable system for monitoring bulk water use from hydrants. Consequently, usage often goes untracked, straining municipal water infrastructure and undermining long-term sustainability. In response to this challenge, village staff reached out to LOR with a solution. LOR funding will support the Village of Questa in purchasing a portable hydrant meter with a backflow preventer to accurately measure high-volume water use during construction projects. This reusable tool will improve accountability for contractor water use, support sustainable water management, and enable the village to implement usage-based fees that help protect Questa’s limited water resources for the community.
