Furniture Prepares Weiser’s New Behavioral Health Clinic to Open

  • Local Champion: Weiser Memorial Hospital Foundation
  • Date Funded: September 13, 2024
  • Grant Amount: $9,950

Like many communities, Weiser struggles with mental health. In 2023, Weiser Memorial Hospital provided more than 3,250 appointments to roughly 820 behavioral health patients, numbers that have only continued to grow. Seeing the need for additional support, Weiser Memorial Hospital decided to expand its behavioral and mental health services, buying a new building to house an expanded clinic. But the hospital ran into problems when the building required costly unforeseen repairs. Unable to outfit the clinic to get it up and running, staff with the Weiser Memorial Hospital Foundation reached out to LOR for support. LOR’s funding will help Weiser Memorial Hospital purchase furniture for the clinic’s intake room, including chairs and end tables. When finished, the behavioral health clinic will assist the Weiser community with trauma therapy, group counseling, pediatric services, and more.
