Drying Equipment Extends Tennis Season in Weiser

  • Local Champion: Weiser High School Athletics
  • Date Funded: February 19, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $7,994

Wet spring weather and falling debris from surrounding trees make the tennis courts at Weiser’s Memorial Park unsafe for the more than 100 middle and high school athletes who us the courts, often resulting in canceled practices and matches. When a local tennis coach with Weiser High School learned about LOR’s support for community projects, he reached out with an idea to solve this persistent problem. LOR’s funding will help Weiser High School purchase specialized court cleaning and drying equipment that will allow for the quick removal of water and debris, creating safer playing conditions while extending the tennis season for both school athletes and community members who use the courts.
