Court Repairs Restore Recreation Access on Monte Vista’s East Side

  • Local Champion: City of Monte Vista
  • Date Funded: December 15, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $30,000

Monte Vista residents, especially those on the east side of town, lack consistent access to a safe, well-maintained park where they can participate in recreational activities like pickleball and basketball. After hearing repeated concerns from community members about the poor condition of the courts at Marsh Park, the Recreation Director for the city reached out to LOR with a plan to rehabilitate the surfaces.

LOR’s funding will help hire a contractor to remove existing coatings, patch and fill cracks, and install a new sports coating system on one basketball court and two pickleball courts. The restored courts will create safe, accessible outdoor recreation spaces for families, youth, and older adults who rely on public parks for exercise and social connection.
