Community Book Binding Project Helps Lander Writers See Their Work in Print

  • Local Champion: Project Carpe Diem
  • Date Funded: April 9, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $1,305

In Lander, a community rich with writers of all ages, many aspiring authors lack access to the connections and resources needed to see their work in print. After founding the Learning Resources Library, a local volunteer recognized an opportunity to address this need and reached out to LOR for support. LOR’s funding will help purchase specialized equipment including binding machines, a heavy-duty paper cutter, and printing supplies needed to launch book creation classes and establish an ongoing community resource. This initiative not only teaches valuable bookmaking skills but also provides Lander residents ongoing access to tools that allow them to create everything from personal family memoirs to children’s cookbooks—giving local writers the satisfaction of holding their published work without the hurdles of traditional publishing.
