Baseball Workshops Give Taos Youth a Chance to Play Ball

  • Local Champion: The Baseball School Incorporated
  • Date Funded: February 12, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $9,450

Many Taos youth lack opportunities to learn and practice fundamental baseball and softball skills, making it difficult for them to confidently participate. So, a local physician who founded The School of Baseball, a nonprofit that aims to make baseball, softball, and academics affordable, wanted to host workshops that would teach Taos youth. In need of support, he reached out to LOR. LOR’s funding will help The School of Baseball hire five local coaches and buy a pitching machine to conduct weekly skills workshops, ensuring Taos youth have access to instruction that builds confidence and allows more Taos youth to participate in America’s pastime.
