Audio-Visual Upgrades Give Libby Residents a Clear Voice in Local Government

  • Local Champion: City of Libby
  • Date Funded: September 5, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $24,000

Libby City Council meetings serve as the primary way residents engage with local government, but outdated audio equipment and poor visual displays make it difficult for people to follow discussions both in person and online. Unable to clearly hear or see council materials, community members cannot contribute meaningfully to important civic issues. City staff wanted to remove these barriers to public participation, so they reached out to LOR with a solution. LOR’s funding will help the city of Libby purchase a modern sound system, smart boards, and conference camera equipment to ensure all residents can clearly hear and see council proceedings. The upgraded technology will make meetings more accessible for people with hearing or vision challenges while encouraging broader community participation in local government decisions.
